What is it?
Different to corn starch, it's made from the whole corn grain kernel and contains all the vital parts of the seed. It's a highly nutritional and adaptable flour which is popular in Mexican cooking.
Where can I use it?
It is popularly used in tacos, tortillas and other Mexican food preparations. Great for making dense cornbread. It is also great for thickening sauces, gravies, custard and soups and as a breading agent. This fine, light golden flour adds a pleasing texture to baked goods and a smooth consistency to meals and sauces. Can be blended with wheat flour to make low gluten cakes, cookies and more.
