Organic Chia Seeds, black
What is it?
The word 'chia' comes from the Mayan word for 'strength'. Aztec soldiers in Central Mexico used chia seeds to give them energy and stamina. It is a tiny seed. The plant is grown commercially for its seeds which are now used world-wide.
What are the nutritional benefits?
Full of omega-3 fatty acids and fibre - 5 grams of fibre in one teaspoon. A good source of vitamin B, riboflavin and folate. Also a rich source of calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc.
Where can I use it?
The seeds can be eaten in multiple ways - raw or cooked. Add them to salads, smoothies, baked goods and even stir fries. Sprinkle them on your cereals or even as a substitute for pectin in jam. Helps to increase the nutritional value of any dish. Pleasant nutty flavour.
Anything important?
Chia seeds are incredibly absorbent. Mix them with water to create a chia gel which can then be used as a substitute for eggs in some baking.

Well, these are such good value for money, remember that if you grind them they will give you all their benefits. I purchased a Breville spice and coffee grinder which grinds them perfectly.
Great addition to smoothies as they're packed with omega 3 and 6 and full of nutrients plus they add bulk to a smoothie.
Great quality and so easy to use. Great egg replacement when I ran out of eggs, but I use these in so many things.
Love chia seeds, so versatile. So happy with these, the price and quality just make it even better
Chia mixed with fruit, coconut yoghurt or mylk or any kind makes a delicious dessert packed with protein. Yum!
