Organic Brown Basmati Rice – Certified Organic & Wholegrain
Known as ‘the fragrant one’, this certified organic brown basmati rice is traditionally grown in the foothills of the Himalayas — and the difference is unmistakable. Long, slender grains with a delicate, light nutty aroma and flavour. Unprocessed and wholegrain, it retains far more nutrition than white rice. Available in bulk sizes from 500g to 10kg.
Why Choose This Rice?
- ✅ Certified Organic – no pesticides, no nasties
- ✅ Wholegrain – less processed than white rice, more nutrients retained
- ✅ Higher in fibre than white rice (5.2g per 100g)
- ✅ Good source of protein (9.5g per 100g)
- ✅ Zero saturated fat
- ✅ Low in sugar (0.9g per 100g)
- ✅ Rich in amino acids compared to most other rice varieties
- ✅ Light, dry and fluffy when cooked — grains lengthen beautifully
How to Cook It
- Rinse the rice until the water runs clear
- Use 2 cups of water or stock for every 1 cup of rice
- Bring to the boil, then reduce to a low simmer
- Cover the pot and cook for 20–25 minutes until all liquid is absorbed
- Remove from heat, let stand for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork

Everyone in our family loves this rice! It has a subtle, nutty flavour and a nice texture. We have it with everything, but faves are with Thai or Indian curries.
Brown Rice is so versatile and I love that we've been able to convert our family to nutritious, complex carbohydrates to fill them up rather than empty carbs - a win for our family!
Fabulous brown rice and at such a good price. AND packaged only in recyclable paper, love that!
Love this rice - I always disguise it in my mince/curry dishes and the kids don't even realise it's brown ... didn't take long to transition them from white to brown rice... love it!
