Organic Barley Flakes — NZ Grown, Biodynamically Certified

Wholesome, chewy, and naturally sweet — these Organic Barley Flakes are made from NZ-grown barley kernels that are husked, flattened, and rolled into flakes. Similar in appearance to rolled oats but thicker and chewier, with a naturally sweeter flavour and lower fat content. Biodynamically grown right here in New Zealand and certified by both Demeter and BioGro.

Why You'll Love Them

  • NZ Grown & Processed — biodynamically farmed and processed in New Zealand
  • Demeter & BioGro Certified — the gold standard in organic and biodynamic certification
  • Naturally Sweeter than Oats — with a lower fat content (2.1g per 100g)
  • Good Source of Protein — 9.6g per 100g
  • Low in Sugar — only 0.8g per 100g
  • Available in Multiple Sizes — from 500g up to 10kg for bulk buyers

How to Use Them

Cook as a hot breakfast porridge — they make an excellent oat replacement with a heartier, chewier bite. Try homemade granola by lightly toasting with raisins, a drizzle of honey, sunflower or pumpkin seeds, and your favourite nuts. Also great in muesli, baked goods, soups, and stews as a thickener.

I love how easy barley flakes add variety to the diet, as it does the same as rolled oats as it s mild enough, yet tastes great. A great staple.
