What are they?
Wholesome and pure, dried Adzuki Beans have a strong, nutty-sweet flavour. Commonly used to make red bean paste. A staple of the macrobiotic diet, where they're referred to as the most "˜yang' or warming of beans.
What are the nutritional benefits?
Adzuki beans are a great source of essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. They're packed with protein and fibre as well as manganese, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and more.
What will I love about them?
They are very versatile! You can use them to make sweet dishes such as brownies and they also make a tasty addition to savoury dishes such as soups and salads. Use them to make curries, vege burgers, hummus and more.
Anything important?
These beans are dried so need to be soaked overnight prior to cooking.
To cook: Add 1 cup of beans to 4 cups boiling water. Cover and simmer for 40-60 minutes, until tender.
